The Golden Globe Awards were held last night. \u00a0 I did not watch them in whole, \u00a0as<\/div>\n

I am not a great fan of awards shows. \u00a0There are many reasons for this, \u00a0which perhaps I will examine in a different blog entry. \u00a0 \u00a0That having been said, \u00a0 Meryl Streep, \u00a0who was given a the\u00a0Cecil B. DeMille Award for her work, \u00a0used much of the time allocated for her acceptance Speech to speak about the\u00a0current political situation, \u00a0and the donald<\/a>. \u00a0 It is worth spending a few minutes to watch, \u00a0as Ms. Streep reminds us of the puerile behavior and speech of our President-Elect. HERE\u00a0<\/a>is another story on the interaction<\/p>\n

I call this post “the donald \u00a0VS \u00a0The World” \u00a0because in this one exchange between Ms. Streep and the donald, we see exactly why he is unfit to hold the office. \u00a0In years past, \u00a0Presidents and other Elected \u00a0Officials have been mocked during these speeches, \u00a0and have had some mighty digs pointed in their direction. \u00a0 How have they treated these moments? \u00a0 They have, \u00a0in most cases, \u00a0simply let it go and provided NO public comment. \u00a0 Privately, \u00a0they may have whined, \u00a0but they kept it private. \u00a0Not, \u00a0however, \u00a0the donald. \u00a0 This morning, \u00a0 he let loose with a snarky \u00a0commentary on Twitter, \u00a0saying this about the event:<\/div>\n

\u00a0Meryl Streep, one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood, doesn’t know me but attacked last night at the Golden Globes. She is a Hillary flunky who lost big. For the 100th time, I never “mocked” a disabled reporter (would never do that) but simply showed him “groveling” when he totally changed a 16 year old story that he had written in order to make me look bad. Just more very dishonest media!<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n

Hum…the donald claims that he did not mock the reporter? \u00a0 Really? \u00a0 What do Y’all think\u00a0THIS VIDEO<\/a>\u00a0shows?<\/div>\n

SO…How does this exchange of missiles demonstrate the basic problem with the donald in the Presidency?<\/div>\n

  1. Once again, \u00a0he demonstrates that he is both thin-skinned AND vindictive. \u00a0It might be acceptable to issue a public statement that he disagreed with Ms. Streep’s characterization of his demonstrating the handicapped reporter’s mannerisms.\u00a0 However,\u00a0 he went far beyond that point.<\/li>\n
  2. Anyone that says anything that tweaks him is an enemy, \u00a0to be slapped down hard…so, \u00a0he starts off his rant by slagging her reputation, \u00a0trying to weaken her comments with insults.<\/li>\n
  3. He lies…blatantly, and almost constantly. \u00a0 To me, the above recording does show him mocking the reporter. \u00a0 \u00a0In addition, \u00a0his remarks about Ms. Streep are without merit either. \u00a0She is not “One of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood”. \u00a0 Even today, \u00a0she can command the screen better than even 10 copies of the donald all clustered around squeaking for attention could do.\u00a0 She was NOT attacking him but was decrying\u00a0 his actions and speech, as well she should, as it was an ugly moment among too many ugly moments in the campaign. \u00a0\u00a0 Finally, \u00a0 “100th time?” \u00a0 that seems a bit exaggerated,\u00a0 although it might be at least half way to the truth.<\/li>\n
  4. His volatility is a problem (More on that in a bit). \u00a0 Do we REALLY want a person who can launch Nuclear Missiles in the position to do so, when he has shown that he is a chicken-hawk, \u00a0and not only could become angry at a slight by a world leader, \u00a0and launch, \u00a0and, \u00a0has a proven history of asking “What good is there in having Nukes, \u00a0if we cannot use them”.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n

    There are many more, \u00a0 of course, \u00a0but I have commented on them in other blog entries this year, \u00a0and, they are well documented on line. \u00a0 \u00a0To get back to that point about volatility for a moment, though, I wanted to pass along this commentary by Keith<\/p>\n

    Keith Olbermann<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

    Olbermann.\u00a0 He\u00a0 is a very insightful, \u00a0and articulate man,\u00a0 and recently posted a video aimed at the donald cultists in specific, and all Citizens in general, why he thinks there is something wrong with the donald. and offering suggestions on how to prepare for drastic action. \u00a0 He has known the donald for 20 years or more, \u00a0and has interviewed him a number of times. \u00a0 This, to me, enforces the seriousness of his words. \u00a0 If you have not seen it, \u00a0I strongly suggest you watch, and consider\u00a0THIS VIDEO ESSAY<\/a>. \u00a0 It is a powerful indictment of the donald, \u00a0and bears serious consideration. \u00a0 Keith has lost his job at several News Channels \u00a0because of his focus on the truth, \u00a0and his outspoken rants that gore the ox of powerful people. \u00a0One of the somewhat chilling things about this essay is that this is no rant…it is as calm and balanced as can be…He Means It. \u00a0 Not to dilute this entry, \u00a0but I suggest visiting\u00a0Olbermann’s YouTube Channel<\/a>\u00a0and watching other examples of his work. \u00a0 He is not always correct, \u00a0and sometimes I feel he has gone over the edge…but, \u00a0overall, \u00a0he is one, \u00a0IMPRESSIVE voice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
