Greetings and Salutations;<\/div>\n

Some time before the inauguration, \u00a0plans grew to hold a Woman’s March in protest against the new administration, \u00a0on the \u00a021st of January. \u00a0 This idea really caught on, \u00a0not only in the United States, \u00a0but all around the world. \u00a0So…yesterday, \u00a0many, \u00a0many cities saw a large collection of Women and Men, \u00a0marching in protest, \u00a0and making their view of the future be known. \u00a0 The original march was arranged for Washington D. C. \u00a0but, the movement grew so huge that even in Knoxville, \u00a0Tennessee, \u00a0we saw several thousand people come out and participate in the event \u00a0 Here are a few pictures – and there are MANY more online.<\/div>\n

The protests throughout the country and the world\u00a0 exhibited support for the best spirits of the principles of Non-Violence, as practiced by Martin Luther King, Jr. \u00a0and other great people over the years<\/p>\n

. \u00a0 In spite of the fact that (just in the United States) \u00a0millions of people came together, \u00a0there were nearly no examples of violence. \u00a0There was a great feeling of strength and solidarity that, hopefully, \u00a0will sustain us against the open Evil that is infecting America and will be with us for some time into the future.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 As a final point,\u00a0 many of the protestors left their signs outside the donald’s hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue!<\/div>\n

Ever since the Election, \u00a0 when I have been on Social Media, \u00a0or watching the news interviewing donald cultists, \u00a0 I have heard some very consistent messages. \u00a0 I am told “You lost! \u00a0He Won!”, \u00a0“You people who hate America are DONE!”, \u00a0“Get Over it!”, “You lost..it is time to support your President”, and “Stop whining and trying to tear his administration down…you lost!”\u00a0 by the folks that voted for the donald. \u00a0 I, \u00a0and the many folks like me, \u00a0are not treated like opponents, with valid, if different values. \u00a0Rather we are treated as if we hate America, \u00a0and are the enemy! \u00a0I have tried to speak to these sad comments with various arguments, \u00a0but, \u00a0without success. \u00a0 Finally though, \u00a0a woman being interviewed as part of the protest yesterday \u00a0wrapped it up in a strong, and positive package, making a remark that really resonated with me, and, has become my rallying cry for the next few years.<\/div>\n

She said<\/div>\n
“I am not protesting AGAINST anything. I am protesting FOR the things that make America truly great”.<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n

We, \u00a0who disagree with the terrible plans that the Republicans have to burn down the country and destroy as many of the advances our society has made in the past 50 years, \u00a0need to cling to this statement. \u00a0We can use it to remind us that we may not be perfect, \u00a0but, \u00a0our goals are to help and support ALL Americans…not just the privileged few. \u00a0We can draw strength from it when it seems the battle is overwhelming…and use that strength to pick ourselves up and do more to keep America great, \u00a0and support those things that make it so.<\/div>\n

UPDATE:<\/strong> \u00a0 \u00a0Today, \u00a0 I ran across this graphic, \u00a0created by Google, \u00a0which shows the locations of all the Marches in the United States.\u00a0 I assume the data was gathered from searches and results…\u00a0 The size of an\u00a0 orange circle is proportional to the number of people taking part in the March!\u00a0\u00a0 There were very few states that did not have a March…\u00a0\u00a0 The last numbers I heard were that there were around 600 events,\u00a0 and over 4 million people taking part in them.<\/div>\n
