It is a perfect example, alas, of why I have a rule that any cats I am Guardian to  are inside only.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/beemandave.com\/beemanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Walnut_Cat_Hit_By_Car.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1747\" width=\"508\" height=\"677\" srcset=\"https:\/\/beemandave.com\/beemanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Walnut_Cat_Hit_By_Car.jpg 720w, https:\/\/beemandave.com\/beemanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Walnut_Cat_Hit_By_Car-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/beemandave.com\/beemanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Walnut_Cat_Hit_By_Car-113x150.jpg 113w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 508px) 100vw, 508px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is Walnut.   He lived too short a life, alas,  and his death was unnecessary&#8230;  His Guardian  posted the image, with the following comment:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>My  cat Walnut passed away last night. A lady found him deceased in front  of her door. And when Animal control came out  I verified his remains.  The animal officer thinks he got hit by a car on one of the main roads. I  also remember people shooting off fireworks last night. So he may of  been running home spooked and not paying attention.  Going to miss him.  He was my buddy.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All I am going to say here is repeat that, had Walnut been an inside only cat, he would still be bringing love to the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cats that are allowed to roam outside have a life span of 5-7 years.   Inside only cats can live 18 years or more&#8230;   If you let your cat roam outside, ask yourself this:   Do I want to have that companionship for 7 years?
