\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0First off, \u00a0 this blog entry is likely to be updated. \u00a0Civil Discourse is welcome, \u00a0but it is my forum, so if you post rants that descend to attacks, \u00a0or spurious claims, \u00a0you are likely to be deleted and banned.<\/div>\n

\nWorld Trade Center burning, 2001\/09\/11<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
I was amazed today to see, \u00a0on my Face Book time line, \u00a0a lengthy thread about the destruction of the World Trade Center, on 2001\/09\/11. \u00a0 I had thought that after decades of debunking, \u00a0 the Conspiracy Theories had been laid to rest. \u00a0 Apparently not. \u00a0 \u00a0So…I am going to touch on some aspects of that day and the events therein.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 I, oddly enough, \u00a0had a bad night on the 10th, \u00a0and had not been able to sleep, \u00a0so I was awake at 7:30 or so when the report of the first plane hitting the tower came in. \u00a0 I immediately turned on the TV, \u00a0and did little for the rest of the day except watch in amazement and some horror as events transpired. \u00a0 The images from that day are as clear today to me as they were 15 years ago as they first sprayed into my home across the airwaves. \u00a0 It was a very chaotic day for much of the time, \u00a0as an event like this had never happened to America, \u00a0and, \u00a0we apparently did not believe that it COULD happen. \u00a0 There was, \u00a0early on, \u00a0commentators talking about how they could not understand why anyone would do this! \u00a0 It was like that first moment when one awakes, \u00a0and has to pry eyelids, \u00a0crusted together by the night \u00a0open to see reality. \u00a0We, \u00a0as a society, \u00a0were forced to confront the fact that America is NOT perfect, and that we do terrible things in the world for no reason other than expediency, \u00a0or short term gain, \u00a0or simple stupidity and misunderstandings of reality. \u00a0 No one likes to be confronted with their failures, \u00a0and have their fantasy about their own perfection questioned, \u00a0 so, of course, \u00a0many folks grasp at any straws they can in an attempt to avoid that ugly truth.<\/div>\n

America can be a “Great Society” and does have many positive moments. \u00a0 Look, \u00a0for example, \u00a0at the recent Wildfires in the East Tennessee area, \u00a0and how we, as a people, have banded together to reach out and aid our fellow Tennesseans. \u00a0 We do not care who a person voted for. \u00a0We do not care what their race is. \u00a0We do not care how rich they are. \u00a0 We reach out to provide needed aid, and support in this difficult time.<\/div>\n

First off, \u00a0let me touch on the motivations of the terrorists that flew the planes into the towers. \u00a0 This was not a surprise to the Intelligence community, \u00a0as there had been traffic about Al Queda preparing for a big attack for months. \u00a0 At least once, \u00a0Pres. Bush had a briefing report presented to him in the daily, \u00a0morning \u00a0intelligence briefing titled “Bin Laden Determined to Attack inside the United States”. \u00a0 Add to this the fact that Al Queda had attempted to bring the buildings down with a large car bomb some time before, \u00a0and, it should have been a matter of concern. \u00a0 However, \u00a0stupidity and poor judgement does not a Conspiracy make.Then..there are the claims about a controlled implosion bringing the buildings down. \u00a0 Evidence for this mostly comes from news reel footage giving close ups of the windows blowing out as the building collapsed. \u00a0 Let us look at the sequence of events, though.<\/div>\n

Airplanes, \u00a0loaded with Jet Fuel, \u00a0impacted the towers well up towards the top of the structures. \u00a0 This sprayed the fuel through several floors and coated TONS of flammable items with it.<\/li>\n
Jet fuel is not gasoline. \u00a0It is more akin to OIL, \u00a0so it does not flash off and burn rapidly as gasoline does. \u00a0 So, \u00a0when it did ignite from any of the sources of sparks that showed up at the time, \u00a0it burned slow and hot for quite some time before being consumed. \u00a0 This ensured that a LOT of flammable material was on fire.<\/li>\n
When the planes hit the towers, \u00a0 the skeleton of the building consisted of steel beams, \u00a0coated with a spray on fire insulation. \u00a0 This insulation was designed to resist a “normal” fire, \u00a0of the building’s contents igniting and producing a lot of heat. \u00a0It was NOT designed to resist the pressures of tons of aluminum scraping by it, \u00a0or, the pressure wave of air from the impact and subsequent ignition of the fuel.<\/li>\n
Steel, \u00a0while it is very strong, \u00a0deforms at temperatures far below its melting point. \u00a0That is why Blacksmiths can take a half inch thick, \u00a0steel bar, \u00a0heat it to a bright, \u00a0red hot, \u00a0and twist it into a spiral.<\/li>\n
The design of the WTC was unique, \u00a0in that it was, basically, \u00a0a cylinder of steel girders with cross beams riveted to them to provide support for the floors. \u00a0When those floor joists were damaged, \u00a0and the floor removed by the impact, \u00a0this turned quite a few floors of the tower into a chimney – \u00a0which pulled in air, and helped fan the flames.<\/li>\n
Gravity does not pull at an angle. \u00a0 The WTC towers were two, \u00a0very tall, \u00a0cylinders, \u00a0standing on end, \u00a0on a fairly tiny foundation. \u00a0 They had been built just as perfectly vertical as possible, \u00a0to minimize stresses and ensure that they would not self-destruct. \u00a0 So…when the support beams partway down the tower started to warp and bend, \u00a0as a result of softening from the heat, \u00a0gravity pulled the top floors straight down. \u00a0Once the process started, \u00a0there was no stopping it, \u00a0as each floor destroyed added to the weight of debris falling.<\/li>\n
As the pile-driver piston that was the upper floors hit a lower floor, \u00a0it would cause a spike in the air pressure on that floor…This, \u00a0along with the impact of the debris, \u00a0which started the tempered glass windows shattering, \u00a0caused the glass to blow out and away from the tower. \u00a0This seems to be the main “evidence” that the towers were imploded.<\/li>\n
I find the idea that our government could create an event like this, \u00a0and keep all evidence of their plotting from coming to light for this long to be so amusing as to be like watching the clowns at the circus. \u00a0 The Government is just not that competent at keeping huge conspiracies like this as a secret, \u00a0and I have yet to see any evidence that they COULD do this. \u00a0 Time and time again, \u00a0leaks by the hundreds of Elected Representatives have revealed events that we have been in control of, \u00a0and shown what foolishness we, as a Nation, have gotten into.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 I could go on, \u00a0and I certainly admit there were some puzzling things that happened on that day. \u00a0 However, \u00a0 the explanation that it was a disaster \u00a0caused by the madness of people driven to extreme action by America’s actions, \u00a0is far more reasonable than the theories \u00a0this this was a “False Flag” operation by our government, \u00a0to try and manipulate the American Public. \u00a0 Frankly, \u00a0we were not a lot brighter 15 years ago than we are in 2016, \u00a0and look at where we have ended up!<\/div>\n

The Conspiracy Theory claims about the WTC destruction, \u00a0how it happened, why it happened, and who benefitted are all extraordinary claims. \u00a0 Therefore, \u00a0they require extraordinary proof \u00a0to justify moving beyond the simple fact that it was an attack by a few madmen, \u00a0programmed by fanatics who hate what America stands for, and what our Society provides. \u00a0So far, \u00a0I have yet to see any such proof. \u00a0 I see much speculation, \u00a0and “What if” type questions raised, \u00a0and strongly worded opinion pieces, but nothing is ever provided to prove these claims.<\/div>\n
