Greetings and Salutations;
I have a couple of issues I want to address in this post. I apologize in advance if it gets a bit wordy!
The chaos in the world continues to erode sanity away. A few days ago, #45, who explicitly ran for office on the platform of keeping America out of foreign wars and spent a lot of air-time decrying them, and the presidents who got us into them, pulled the trigger on a war with Iran. He has started a massive bombing campaign, in conjunction with Netanyahu, the fascist leader of Israel, and has expanded it to sinking an UN-armed, Iranian ship off the coast of India. He claims that this is because Iran is within a couple of weeks of having a nuclear device and the missiles to drop it on the United States. Alas, no sane person believes him. Why? Well, back in June of 2025, he did a massive bombing strike on Iran, and then claimed that he had destroyed their ability to create the concentrated uranium needed to create a bomb. Either he was lying then, or he is lying now. Secondly, every intelligence analyst that has spoken up has agreed that not only does Iran not have ICBMs at hand, at best it would be years before they could develop one. So, right now, the only way they could get a nuclear bomb into the United States is by sending a priority shipment via DHL or some other international carrier…And I suspect someone might well notice this cargo well before it entered the country!
So far the largest target the Americans have blown up is a girls’ school…killing close to 200 young girls, and injuring many more. The administration immediately claimed it was an Iranian missile that did this damage, however, the weapon debris documented at the scene is of a Tomahawk drone…and the Iranians do NOT have any of these weapons. I have other comments about this, but, will leave them for another time.
Perhaps the more important issue that has come to light from this illegal conflict is that the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, a non-profit, non-partisan organization has received a number of complaints and notifications from soldiers that their commanding officers are openly claiming that the current conflict in Iran is the opening strife that will trigger the Apocalypse, bring on Armageddon, and cause Christ to return to the world! Apparently, these commanders also view #45 as the new Messiah – a view shared by a rather worrisome percentage of his cult following.
These statements by military command are worrisome in several ways. If nothing else it shows that there are too many people in the command hierarchy who are fanatical enough that they are willing to totally ignore the oath that they swore upon entering the military. It shows that they are NOT doing their best to defend and protect the Constitution and citizens, but, are putting a questionable agenda ahead of this.
What, I asked myself, could generate this level of foolishness? I could only come up with a few, major, options. The first option is they they are simply so indoctrinated in the world of the military hierarchy and the control it exerts that they are simply parroting the bat-shit crazy, nationalist nonsense that #45 and his merry band of miscreants spews. This is concerning, because it means that we do not have rational leadership in control of a terribly powerful force, but, rather, mindless robots who cannot think for themselves.
The second option is that there are far too many in command who have a level of hubris that is almost mind-boggling in its self pride. For them to think that they can control God by a particular action almost heretical in its Pride and foolishness. If it did not promise to bring about the end of the country and society I live in and appreciate, it would almost be pathetic! However, I still derive some dark amusement of the idea that these people, who compare to God as a planarian compares to Stephen Hawking, can actually believe that their actions are the magical formula that will Summon God to perform for them.
The third option that sprang to mind is that they are simply so ignorant that they can be manipulated with clever words into their actions, and into taking on another’s insane views as their own. I cannot discount this entirely, as I have observed, up close and personal, how the political changes to the school systems in the USA have eroded the teacher’s ability to provide a well-rounded education that gives the citizens the tools of skeptical thinking and the research skills needed to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Now, granted, these complaints have not been verified by an independent source. However, they strike me as likely being true for the basic reason as mentioned above, that’s so many of the Republican Party have either implicitly or explicitly named 45 as the invoice of God on Earth.
I’m troubled by these opinions from the command because of the above issues I’ve touched on, and it brings me to question the motives of the military leaders, and their willingness to follow the constitution. If they believe, so deeply, that by creating a massive conflict in Iran, they will trigger the Apocalypse and cause Christ to return to Earth, does this mean that they are competent enough to make rational decisions about war plans. Are they willing to be moderate in their response, and willing and interested in stopping the conflict as quickly as is possible. I submit that they will not be interested in either moderating their actions, or, halting the military actions until the Middle East blows up in a full-fledged War.
Our government in general, and the military and specific, should not be driven by religious fanaticism. The mixing of the two is kind of like folding a pea-sized ball of dog crap into a gallon of ice cream. The probability that any single scoop will have contamination is very low. However the possibility that their might be any included in the scoop contaminates the entire volume of ice cream irretrievably. As such, I believe that any military leader who has openly expressed these views needs to be court-martialed and removed from the service. Of course, this is going to be very difficult right now since 45 has, for five years, worked very diligently to remove the military command which upholds the Constitution and believes in their oath. These good people have been replaced by sycophantic minions who apparently place 45 into that roll of Messiah that he so desperately wants to hold. On top of that, there is the problem that, if history is any predictor, the leaders that he has put in place are shallow and incompetent at the roles they have been given. I point out Sec. Hegseth as a classic example of this principle. Replacing the competent and honorable with these clowns is a serious problem because it directly impacts the security of the entire country. It is also the driving force and lubricant that has pushed America down the path to becoming a rogue state that is no longer trusted by any country in the world.
If we are to survive as a nation, and not join the trash heap of failed Empires that has grown through the ages, it is vital that each of us citizens to make a strong effort to resist, persist in that resistance We must vote out Republicans, replacing them with Democrats and Independents who respect and honor the constitution, and their oath to protect it against all enemies, foreign and domestic; Representatives who will govern in a way to enrich the lives of ALL citizens, not just a tiny group of artificially inflated people; Representatives who will seek out the opinions of all groups…who are not afraid of dissenting opinions…and will come to a compromise that will meet the needs of all..not of the few.
