A frustrating Astronomical Moment

     Greetings and Salutations;

     Hum…And folks say that Nature is a mindless force, with no sense of humor!   The annual Lyrid meteor shower peaked last night, but, I had no chance to see even a hint of one, in spite of the new moon.   Why?   Well, of course, the clouds moved in and blanketed the area pretty much all of yesterday and today.   No useful rains to speak of, but, enough cloud cover to blank out any chance of seeing the meteors.  Some folks, as recounted Here, had some luck, and time will tell if the plans to capture shower images from the ground and from the ISS to provide 3d images worked out.
     Still…it is amazing how often I have been clouded out when trying to observe events like this.
     Pleasant dreams
