Greetings and Salutations;

Ten days ago, what might be the last Presidential election for Americans was held. In a somewhat surprising turn of events, a majority of the voters elected #45 for a second term. As happens too often, less than half of the eligible voters actually made it to the polls, so about 25% of the eligible citizens returned a man who is a convicted felon, a convicted rapist, and, who not only grifted people for years, but stole money from a children’s charity, to the most powerful position in the world. It was, to put it mildly, like getting kicked in the solar plexus for many of us.

How could this happen? Some people have suggested that Musk’s Starlink system could have flipped votes from Harris. However NOTHING directly related to voting goes over Starlink. The balloting results in all states are hand carried to a central location to be recorded and tallied. It is one of the many safeguards that have been in place for decades to ensure that balloting results are accurate. Now, it might have been used to spread the firehose of lies from the Right-Wing, but that is not touching the balloting directly.
Could it be that some MAGAts got into positions in the states that gave them access to the accumulated results…affording them the chance to alter them? Perhaps…there has been a real push by the MAGAt Party to install these fifth columnists. However, if this happened, an audit should uncover this criminal behavior.
I submit that the more important factors were these:
1) Too many citizens (of ALL political parties) Have a deep vein of misogyny and racism that either kept them from voting at all, or caused them to refuse to vote for Harris. In the minds of far too many citizens, women are second-class citizens (at best) or slightly less than human (at worst)
2) It is a fact that voter turnout was a LOT lower than in 2020. Historically, the Right-Wing benefits from a low turnout…so that hurt Harris. Also, typically, the Right-Wing fanatics come out in droves, so the election losses are mostly on the Democratic side.
3) Why would Democrats not come out? There are several reasons. My #1 factor covers some of them. Also, Democrats have a long history of being discouraged by bad news. While they may claim otherwise, they are affected by the same, hypnotic effects of lies pumped out at them all the time.
4) A massive failure of the main stream media…again. In 2015, one reason #45 Occupied the Office was from the pandering from the media. They all felt it would be a train wreck, both then and now, and so focused on it to entice viewers to stay with them. As such, they almost completely ignored the Harris/Walz campaign. #45 had huge attention at his masturbatory Rallies. He was rarely…no…NEVER…fact checked, and, his lies were broadcast over and over again.
5) America’s education system has become a cruel joke. It has been eroded away to the point that students have no skills in critical thinking, or an ability to research and fact check. This gives us a population that is gullible, and easy to manipulate…a talent that #45 has in spades.

All of this is a huge concern because before the election #45 was pushing an agenda that would end up with him being a fascist dictator, and would destroy the Constitution and rule of Democracy in America. In the ten days since he eeked out a win (2%) in the Electoral College, he is putting together a team to destroy the government.

Another demonstration of the fascist attitudes of the Right Wing, for years they have been working on a detailed plan of changing America. Called “Project 2025” it is 900 pages of design focused on changing the allegiance of the Federal work force from the Constitution, to the President. It also has plans to destroy any programs that do NOT benefit the ultra-rich and massively powerful in America. As always happens, #45 claimed he knew nothing about it and had never heard of it (and then proved this a lie by saying “There are things in it I do not agree with”). Well, not more than a day after the results came in, the MAGAt party leaders were proudly proclaiming that Project 2025 was EXACTLY what they were planning to do.

My only comfort right now is the fact that I am getting a lot of Schadenfreude from seeing the social media posts and videos from Cult members who are suffering real consequences from their support for their Dear Leader, and their vote for him. They range from folks being banned from family gatherings, to spouses seeking divorce, to companies eliminating Christmas bonuses to give them some cash to stock up on raw materials before the promised tariffs are imposed.

I would love to end up with a positive thought as to ways to fix the problem. I cannot do this right now, as every day brings worse and worse news. I can only hope that enough people will wake up, and vote blue in 2026 and pull Congress back to a saner path. I do not want to die before America is a democracy again….
